M.A.S.K. #1, an all-new series from Skybound and Image Comics, is scheduled for release on June 3, 2026. This launch marks the official arrival of the classic 1980s franchise into the Energon Universe, joining Transformers, G.I. Joe, and Void Rivals. 

Creative Team and Series Overview 

• Creators: The series is written by Dan Watters (Batman: Dark Patterns) with art by Pye Parr (Petrol Head).
• Plot: The story follows Matt Trakker as he recruits a network of specialists to respond to global emergencies using "bleeding-edge" technology that transforms vehicles and masks into ultimate weapons. They face off against Miles Mayhem and the criminal organization V.E.N.O.M., who are scouring the globe for deadly alien weaponry.
• First Look: Fans can get an exclusive first glimpse of the team in the Energon Universe Special 2026, a Free Comic Book Day title releasing on May 2,

Unique Launch Features 

• Blind Bag Program: Issue #1 features the first-ever Energon Universe blind bag program. These opaque bags contain a random chance at any of the solicited covers (A–K) or "surprise" variants that will not be publicly announced before release.
• Specialty Covers: The launch includes die-cut foil mask covers (Covers P and Q) that mimic the look of actual character masks from the show.
