Star Wars #1 (2015) marks the historic return of the franchise to Marvel Comics. Set between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, the issue follows the original trilogy's core heroes as they attempt to sabotage a massive Imperial weapons factory. 

Plot Summary: "Skywalker Strikes"

The story begins shortly after the destruction of the first Death Star, with the Rebel Alliance looking to press their advantage against a disarrayed Empire. 

• The Mission: Han Solo, Leia Organa, and Luke Skywalker lead a covert team to infiltrate Weapons Factory Alpha on the moon Cymoon 1, posing as negotiators for Jabba the Hutt.
• The Complication: The infiltration is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of Darth Vader, who has come to negotiate with Jabba's "emissaries" himself.
• Key Conflict: Luke Skywalker, still believing Vader killed his father, attempts to confront the Dark Lord directly. Meanwhile, Chewbacca attempts to snipe Vader from a distance, but the Sith Lord uses the Force to protect himself and retaliate.
