Superman's Good Guy Gang Special Edition #1 Free Comic Book Day 2025 (May 2025) is an introductory sampler comic published by DC Comics to launch their brand-new Early Reader initiative. Released in conjunction with the massive hype surrounding James Gunn's Superman feature film, this comic serves as a sneak peek chapter of the full graphic novel designed for kids aged 5 to 7.
Core Plot & Synopsis
The story—written and illustrated by Rob Justus—is a lighthearted, super-powered buddy comedy that reimagines the youth of classic DC heroes.
The narrative focuses on an eight-year-old Clark Kent. While Clark is incredibly super—possessing super-speed, super-strength, and an all-around cool demeanor—navigating childhood with abilities can also be incredibly lonely. His world brightens when he crosses paths with two other super-powered kids his age: Kendra Saunders (Hawkgirl) and Guy Gardner (Green Lantern).
Thrilled to find others just like them, the trio decides to form an exclusive club called the Good Guy Gang. The club gives them a safe space where they can openly test out their powers, grow up together, and complete tasks to earn "good guy points" along the way.
