Absolute Flash # 2 Cover A First Printing 2025 BN

Absolute Flash #2 is the second issue of the reimagined Flash series in DC's Absolute Universe, released on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Written by Jeff Lemire with art by Nick Robles, the issue follows a young Wally West as he struggles to control his volatile new powers while being hunted by his father and a specialized task force. 

Plot & Key Events

The story picks up with Wally on the run after the lab accident at Fort Fox that seemingly killed Barry Allen. 

• The Rogues Hunt: Wally is pursued through the desert by an elite military unit known as the Absolute Rogues, consisting of reimagined versions of Captain Cold, Mirror Master (Jesse), Glider, Trickster, and Boomerang.
• Unstable Powers: Wally’s speed is depicted as chaotic and anxiety-driven; his perspective of the world turns red and slows down as he feels he might "explode" if he stops moving.
• Time Displacements: His uncontrolled speed causes him to jump through time, seeing flashes of his past and encountering a version of Barry Allen wearing a high-tech suit who tries to help him refocus.
• Visions of the Future: During his frantic escape, Wally sees two potential futures: one where he is a heroic Flash and another where he becomes a destructive, inhuman "speed monster".
• Absolute Grodd Debut: The issue ends with a major cliffhanger as the Rogues, unable to capture Wally, release Grodd—who in this universe is not a massive gorilla but a small, green, cybernetically enhanced monkey.
