Absolute Superman # 1 Seventh Printing 2026, released on November 6, 2024, is the debut of a new ongoing series in DC’s Absolute Universe. Created by writer Jason Aaron and artist Rafa Sandoval, it reimagines the Man of Steel as an anti-establishment, lone champion for the oppressed. 

Plot and Setting

This version of the story departs significantly from traditional lore, drawing inspiration from Superman's more radical, early Golden Age roots. 

• The Origin: Unlike most versions, Kal-El arrives on Earth as an older child or young adult and remembers his parents, Jor-El and Lara-El.
• Classist Krypton: Krypton is depicted as a rigid, class-based society ruled by the elite Science League. His parents were members of the "scorned" Labor Guild, and the iconic "S" shield is recontextualized as the emblem of that working class.
• A Darker Earth: Kal-El does not grow up with the Kents in a loving home; instead, he is a "blue-collar immigrant" who travels the world secretly helping exploited workers.
• The Conflict: Superman faces off against the global Lazarus Corporation, which uses a private army of "Peacemakers" to enforce oppressive working conditions.
