Core Plot & Synopsis

This issue focuses almost entirely on Brainiac, shifting away from Superman to establish a new, sadistic threat. 

• The Origin of Brainiac: Reimagined as Brainiac 419,732, he was a low-level worker in the "Brainiac Collective" tasked with shoveling the dead bodies of other Brainiac drones into an incinerator on a massive research vessel.
• A Century of Solitude: After spending over 135 years in isolation performing this task, he developed a fractured psyche, using the corpses as "puppets" for companionship. He eventually discovered he was the last surviving Brainiac on the ship and promoted himself to Level 100, taking total control.
• Sadistic Mastermind: In the present day, he operates out of a seedy lair where he tortures bottled cities just to hear their inhabitants scream. He is currently allied with Ra's al Ghul and Lazarus Corp, serving as their primary scientific advisor.
• The Experiment: Throughout the issue, Brainiac narrates his history to a captive Peacemaker, who is being subjected to grotesque medical experimentation.
