Action Comics #1000 (published April 18, 2018) is a landmark 80-page giant celebrating the 80th anniversary of Superman and the first comic book series to reach 1,000 issues. It features an all-star anthology of stories from legendary creators and marks the official return of Superman's iconic red trunks. 

Key Stories and First Appearances 

The issue contains 11 short stories that pay tribute to different eras of Superman's history. 

• "The Truth": Written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Jim Lee, this story features the first appearance of Rogol Zaar, a powerful new villain who claims responsibility for the destruction of Krypton.
• "The Car": Written by Geoff Johns and Richard Donner, this story follows up on the classic cover of Action Comics #1 by showing Superman confronting the man whose car he smashed.
