Convergence #0 (2015) serves as the prologue to DC Comics’ massive Convergence event, bridging the gap between previous storylines like Superman: Doomed and the start of a multiversal war. 

Plot Summary

The issue follows New 52 Superman, who has been displaced from space-time following the events of Doomed. He finds himself on a sentient planet located outside the Multiverse, where he encounters various incarnations of Brainiac from throughout DC history—including Silver Age, 1980s, and animated versions. 

• The Revelation: Superman discovers that Brainiac has been collecting "dying" cities from across various timelines and trapping them under domes on this planet.
• The Sentient Planet: It is revealed that the planet itself is a living entity serving Brainiac. After Superman is sent back to his own time (with his memories of the encounter erased), the planet decides to move beyond its master's design.
• Birth of Telos: The sentient world takes on a humanoid form and names itself Telos. It declares that the captured cities must now fight one another in a "battle royale" to prove which world is worthy of survival, setting the stage for the main Convergence miniseries.
