Convergence #1 (2015) marks the official start of the eight-issue main miniseries, transitioning from the prologue in issue #0 to the beginning of a multiversal "battle royale".
Plot Summary
The story picks up with the survivors of Earth-2 (from the New 52 continuity), who were displaced after their world was destroyed by Darkseid. They find themselves on the sentient planet Telos, which is revealed to be a servant—or a living extension—of Brainiac.
- The Proclamation: Telos appears before the Earth-2 refugees and the various captured cities. He explains that he has spent eons tending to these "failed" timelines and has decided to force them into a final competition.
- The Conflict: The domes protecting each city fall, restoring the powers of the heroes and villains within. Telos declares that only the strongest city will be allowed to survive and continue into a new reality; all others will be destroyed.
- The First Match-Up: The issue features a significant sequence involving the Injustice: Gods Among Us timeline, where that universe's tyrannical Superman and his resistance are introduced to the conflict.
