Creature Corps #1 Ashcan Edition 2026 BN

Creature Corps #1 Ashcan Edition is an ultra-rare promotional preview comic book written by Curt Pires and published by Image Comics to promote the upcoming flagship series launch. This highly sought-after collectible features an exclusive New York Comic Con (NYCC) 2026 cover illustrated by Flops(flopscomics).

Rarity & Distribution Details

The ashcan's rollout became a major talking point during NYCC in October 2026 due to shipping issues:

• The Delayed Shipment: A batch of ashcans intended for direct distribution at the convention failed to arrive on time.
• NYCC Giveaways: Some copies were successfully distributed at the con via special promotions, including an exclusive raffle and signed card giveaway hosted by Scotts Collectables.
• The "Surprise Drop": On October 18, 2026, right after the convention, a surprise online drop of only 50 copies that missed the con was released online alongside signed option opportunities.

About the Main Series

The ashcan serves as an advance preview for the main series premiere of Creature Corps #1, which officially hits comic shops on December 2, 2026.

The story takes place in an alternate timeline where "Calamity Creatures" from a desolate future invaded Earth in 1999. Humanity subsequently monetized the threat, turning the battles into the world's largest for-profit sporting event. The plot follows Dusty Gotem, a retired 14-year-old former world champion who must come out of hiding and reunite his old team to pay off his mother's massive medical bills.
