DC x Sonic the Hedgehog #1 is the debut issue of a five-part crossover limited series that launched on March 19, 2025. Written by longtime Sonic scribe Ian Flynn and illustrated by Adam Bryce Thomas, the story features the Justice League and Team Sonic uniting to defend Sonic's world from an invasion by Darkseid. 

Plot and Key Moments

The story begins with Darkseid and the forces of Apokolips breaching dimensions to hunt for the Chaos Emeralds. 

• Dimensional Clash: The issue opens with Sonic, Tails, and Amy being attacked by Parademons before the Justice League arrives to assist.
• The Fallen Island: Darkseid's ship, the Ragna Rock, shatters the Master Emerald, causing Angel Island to fall into the ocean.
• Heroic Pairings: The heroes split into teams, pairing characters with similar traits:
• Sonic and The Flash: A speed-based rivalry forms as they race into Sunset City.
• Shadow and Batman: Batman manages to convince a reluctant Shadow to join the fight by empathizing with their shared history of tragedy.
• Knuckles and Superman: Superman rescues Knuckles as Angel Island falls, and the two find common ground as protectors of lost legacies.
