The story picks up with Deadman (Boston Brand) residing in the mystical, hidden city of Nanda Parbat, still recovering from a past poisoning by the villainous Sensei.

A Tragic Possession: In a fateful encounter, Deadman convinces Cleveland to let him possess his body so he can perform his old circus trapeze act once more.

The Second Death: While performing in Cleveland's body, an assassin shoots the trapeze artist mid-air. This results in a second death for Boston and the actual death of his brother.

The Fallout: The issue concludes with a supernatural vortex where the brothers' spirits confront each other, setting the stage for Deadman to pursue his old nemesis, the Sensei, once again.
