Future State: Suicide Squad # 1 2021 titled "The Justice Squad," is the first part of a two-issue limited series that debuted on January 26, 2021. It explores a dark vision of the year 2030, where Amanda Waller has established a new order on Earth-3. 

Main Story: The Justice Squad

• The Mission: Set in 2030, Amanda Waller has replaced the Justice League with her own "Justice Squad"—villains impersonating heroes through surgery or illusions to maintain absolute order.
• The Conflict: The team is sent to Earth-3 to neutralize threats like Sinestro and Mongol. However, they are pursued by a second Suicide Squad led by Peacemaker, who has been sent by Checkmate to bring Waller to justice.
• The Roster:
• Conner Kent (Superman): A clone of the original Superman, chosen by Waller to lead.
• William Cobb (Batman): The former Court of Owls assassin, Talon.
• Hypnotic Woman (Wonder Woman): A villain using illusions to mimic the Amazonian hero.
• Clayface (Martian Manhunter): Mimicking J'onn J'onzz's shape-shifting abilities.
• Bolt (The Flash): An Australian speedster taking on the Flash's mantle.
• Fisherman (Aquaman): Possessed and posing as the King of Atlantis. 

Secondary Story: Black Adam

• The Plot: This extra-sized issue includes a backup story, "The Beginning of the End," featuring Black Adam in the 853rd century.
• The Conflict: An immortal Teth-Adam, who has found peace ruling Kahndaq, is forced back into action when the Seven Deadly Sins return as a threat that even Superman Prime cannot stop.
