Godzilla vs. X-Men # 1 (2025) is about the X-Men confronting Godzilla in Japan after the kaiju repeatedly attacks a robotics firm, only for the mutants to discover a larger threat that aligns their mission with the King of the Monsters. The story is a one-shot set in the 1990s X-Men era and is part of a larger series of Marvel/Godzilla crossovers.

  • Godzilla's Targets: The comic opens with Sunfire battling an aggressively active Godzilla, who is targeting specific facilities of a robotics company called Tsugunai Robotics in Japan. Sunfire is quickly overwhelmed, and the X-Men are called in by the Commission on Superhuman Activities to intervene.
  • Xavier's Plan: Professor Charles Xavier senses that Godzilla's actions are driven by reasoned motivation and not random destruction. He develops a unique plan: use Pym Particles to supersize a Super-Adaptoid android, then link the minds of the X-Men (including Cyclops, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Storm, Beast, and Gambit) to control the giant robot as a single fighting force.
  • The True Threat: As the X-Men in the Super-Adaptoid engage Godzilla, they discover the actual reason for Godzilla's attacks: the robotics firm is using Trask Industries' Sentinel technology to build a massive Tri-Sentinel Mechakaiju.
  • An Unlikely Alliance: Recognizing that the giant robot is the true, shared enemy, Professor X delves into Godzilla's mind and helps the X-Men understand that Godzilla, much like mutants, is a creature misunderstood and feared by a world that wants to control or destroy him. The X-Men and Godzilla join forces to defeat the Mechakaiju.
  • Resolution: With the Sentinel threat neutralized, Godzilla departs, leaving the X-Men with a new understanding and shared purpose, having protected the world from a man-made threat.
