Green Arrow #0 (2012) is an origin story published by DC Comics as part of the "Zero Month" event during The New 52 relaunch. It explores the early life of Oliver Queen as a reckless, young billionaire before he became the vigilante known as Green Arrow. 

Plot Summary

The issue follows a 19-year-old Oliver Queen who is sent by his father to work on a Queen Industries oil rig as punishment for his irresponsible behavior. 

• The Incident: Defying his father, Oliver throws a massive party on the rig for his friends, including his girlfriend Leena and best friend Tommy Merlyn.
• The Attack: A terrorist named Iron Eagle raids the platform to steal crude oil.
• The Failed Rescue: In an attempt to prove his worth, an overconfident Oliver tries to shoot a detonator out of Iron Eagle's hand with a bow. Though he hits the detonator, it falls and bounces back onto the ship, triggering an explosion that kills most of the guests, including Leena.
• The Aftermath: Oliver is washed up on a deserted island, where he begins to train himself in archery and survival to redeem himself.
