If Destruction Be Our Lot #1 is a new ongoing sci-fi series from Image Comics set to launch on May 6, 2026. The series features a "weird and emotional" quest for purpose in a future where humanity is extinct and robots have inherited the Earth. 

Plot & Character Preview 

The story follows Abe, a robotic replicant of Abraham Lincoln. While most surviving robots are content with their quiet, human-free routines, Abe believes there is "something more" beyond the city. After narrowly escaping destruction, he decides to wander the Earth to find meaning—or get recycled trying. The series is described as a blend of dark humor and profound sadness, exploring themes of hope and friendship—even if that friend is a talking toaster.
