Justice League Europe # 1 1989 VF/NM

Justice League Europe #1 (1989) is the premiere issue of the first international spin-off from the Justice League International era. Released in April 1989, the story, titled "How Ya Gonna Keep 'Em Down on the Farm After They've Seen Paree?", follows a newly assembled team as they establish a headquarters in Paris. 

Plot Summary: The Paris Embassy

The issue centers on the "Old World" branch of the League as they struggle with administrative and public relations hurdles in a foreign territory. 

• A Fragile Start: Led by an anxious Captain Atom, the team moves into their new Paris embassy managed by Bureau Chief Catherine Cobert.
• The Conflict: The heroes face immediate hostility when a mind-controlled mob storms the embassy, shouting "Nazi pigs!" and demanding the League leave Paris.
• The Mystery: The chaos is sparked by the sudden death of a man named Arthur Lennox, who mutters the cryptic word "Braces" before dying in the embassy foyer.

The series maintained the "bwah-ha-ha" humor of its parent title but featured a more action-centric tone. 

• Team Roster: The founding lineup includes Captain Atom, The Flash (Wally West), Power Girl, Wonder Woman, Elongated Man, Metamorpho, Animal Man, and Rocket Red (Dmitri Pushkin).
• First Appearance: This issue marks the first appearance of Inspector Camus of the French police.
