Lucifer # 1 2016 NM-

Lucifer # 1  released in February 2016 under the DC/Vertigo imprint, kicks off a new ongoing series where God is dead, and Lucifer is accused of the murder. The series is a noir-style mystery following Lucifer and his brother Gabriel as they try to find the true killer. 

The story begins with Lucifer having opened a new nightclub on Earth called "Ex Lux" and bearing a mysterious, unhealing wound in his side. Meanwhile, his brother, the archangel Gabriel, has fallen on hard times on Earth after having his heart removed by John Constantine years earlier. 

• God is Dead: The central mystery is that the angels in the Silver City believe God has been murdered, and Lucifer is the primary suspect, having both motive and opportunity.
• The Investigation: Gabriel is offered a chance to reclaim his grace and return to Heaven if he finds the real killer. He seeks out his brother, and despite their animosity, the two set off to investigate the murder across Heaven, Hell, and Earth.
• Parallel Stories: The issue interweaves this large-scale, theological storyline with smaller, more intimate horror stories on Earth. One sub-plot involves a woman who is driven to commit horrible acts by a whispering jar of jagged teeth demons.
