New Warriors # 1 2014 NM-

New Warriors # 1, published in February 2014, is the start of a new series focusing on a group of young, diverse heroes brought together by a mysterious vision to save the world from an ancient threat. The series introduces several new characters while utilizing some familiar names. 

The story, titled "Origins," opens with Speedball (Robbie Baldwin) having a vision of the end of the world caused by an ancient race called the Celeste. The vision leads him to seek out other young heroes who also have unique powers but are somewhat on the fringe of the superhero community. 

• Assembling the Team: Speedball travels across the country to recruit a new team. He first meets and recruits Scarlet Spider (Kaine), who is living a relatively quiet life in Houston.
• New Faces: They recruit a new character, a speedster named Nova (Sam Alexander), along with an Atlantean girl, and a young Inhuman with unique vibrational powers.
• The Threat Emerges: As they gather, they learn that the Celeste are awakening and the Earth is in imminent danger. They have to form a functional team quickly to face this cosmic threat.
• A Familiar Foe: The series brings back a classic New Warriors foe, the High Evolutionary, who is involved in the unfolding crisis and the origins of some of the new team members. 

The series aimed to blend the legacy of the original New Warriors team with a new cast and a more cosmic, high-stakes narrative.
