Pitt #1, published by Image Comics in January 1993, is the debut of the creator-owned series by Dale Keown. Following his legendary run on The Incredible Hulk, Keown introduced Pitt, a hulking, grey-skinned human-alien hybrid genetically engineered for war.
Story Synopsis: "Fight & Flight!"
The issue picks up after a brief appearance in Youngblood #4, following Pitt's arrival on Earth.
- The Biker Clash: A naked and lost Pitt is ambushed by a biker gang called The Vipers in Manhattan. Pitt brutally dismantles the gang, shrugging off a shotgun blast to the stomach before stealing their clothes and a motorcycle.
- The Mental Link: Throughout the violence, Pitt is mentally scolded by Jereb, a spiritual energy being sharing his consciousness who serves as his moral compass.
- Timmy’s Nightmare: 7-year-old Timmy Bracken subconsciously witnesses Pitt's carnage in a nightmare, establishing a mysterious connection between them.
- The Investigation: NYPD Detective Jack Smithers is assigned a new partner, Bobbie Harras (who displays hints of superhuman strength), to investigate a bloody superhuman attack in a subway. The issue ends with three alien bounty hunters materializing to slaughter bystanders as they track Pitt.
