Shadow War: Alpha # 1 2022 NM-

Shadow War: Alpha # 1 2022 begins with an ailing Ra's al Ghul deciding to turn himself in to the D.E.O. (Department of Extranormal Operations) and share the secrets of the Lazarus Pits with the world, a plan stemming from the realization the pits are cursed. However, during his public surrender at the Markovian embassy, he is assassinated by an unknown assailant in a Deathstroke costume, with his body destroyed and no remains left for a Lazarus Pit resurrection. 

This act sends Talia al Ghul, Ra's' daughter, into a rage. Blaming Deathstroke, she activates her elite forces, the Demon's Shadow, to hunt down and kill Deathstroke and everyone associated with his company, Deathstroke Inc.. 

Meanwhile, Batman (Bruce Wayne) and Robin (Damian Wayne) are alerted to the events. Damian, who had been training with his mother, is devastated by his grandfather's death and blames Batman for not preventing it. The father and son duo find themselves caught in the middle of the escalating conflict, with Damian vowing to hunt down Deathstroke himself. 

The issue ends with the central mystery established: Deathstroke claims innocence, but the evidence points to him, leaving Batman to navigate the ensuing "Shadow War" and uncover the real killer's identity before the situation escalates further.
