Spider-Man & Wolverine # 1 1:25 Marquez Variant First Printing 2025 NM

A "1:25 Variant" is an incentive variant cover for a comic book that a retailer can order from the publisher. The "1:25" refers to the ratio of regular copies a store must order to qualify for a single copy of that special cover.

Spider-Man & Wolverine # 1, released on May 21, 2025, is the debut issue of a new ongoing team-up series by Marvel Comics. The comic, written by Marc Guggenheim with art by Kaare Andrews, sets up a high-stakes spy thriller rooted in the characters' secret pasts. 

The story revolves around a mission to retrieve the "Janus Directory," a legendary S.H.I.E.L.D. database containing the identities of undercover double agents around the world. 

• The Recruit: Wolverine is contacted by an old friend, a former CIA agent named Bill Branscome, who wants to prevent the directory from falling into the wrong hands. Wolverine recruits Peter Parker to help decrypt the data.
• The Ambush: Spider-Man and Wolverine track the directory to a defunct S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier in Astoria, Queens. They are ambushed by Kraven the Hunter and Omega Red, who are also after the data and working with a coerced Mysterio.
• The Cliffhanger Revelation: While Spider-Man is hacking the helicarrier's quantum core, he finds detailed files and video surveillance from his parents' fatal plane crash. He is horrified to see a younger Wolverine on the plane, seemingly confronting his parents just before the transmission cuts.
• Spider-Man vs. Wolverine: The issue ends with an enraged Peter Parker promising, "I'm going to kill you", setting up a major conflict for the next issue.
