Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi — The Golden Age of the Sith #1 is the second installment (following issue #0) of a six-part miniseries published by Dark Horse Comics on October 9, 1996. Set in 5000 BBY, it continues the story of the ancient Republic and the discovery of the Sith Empire. 

Plot Summary: "Into the Unknown"

The story follows the Daragon siblings as their attempt to flee debt leads to a galaxy-altering discovery: 

• The Escape: Trapped on the planet Cinnagar with mounting debts to Aarrba the Hutt, Gav and Jori Daragon are hunted by bounty hunters hired by the merchant Ssk Kahorr.
• The Jump: Saved by Jedi Odan-Urr and Memit Nadill, the siblings realize they must leave the system. They steal back their ship, the Starbreaker 12, and jump into hyperspace using random coordinates to evade Cinnagar security.
• Arrival at Korriban: The random jump carries them across the galaxy to Korriban, the graveyard world of the Sith. They arrive just as the funeral of Dark Lord Marka Ragnos concludes, finding themselves caught in a power struggle between the ambitious Naga Sadow and the traditionalist Ludo Kressh.
• Capture: Mistaken for Republic scouts, Gav and Jori are captured by Sith forces, inadvertently providing Naga Sadow with the means to fulfill his dream of invading the Republic.
