Suicide Squad Annual # 1 2018 is an oversized, horror-themed one-shot published on August 22, 2018. Written by Cullen Bunn with art by Ronan Cliquet, it features a unique "B-Team" roster sent on a gruesome mission while the main Squad is away. 

Horror in the Swamp

• The Catalyst: The story begins with a disturbing medical experiment at Belle Reve where two inmates, Cadence Laramie and Dennis Gaines, are surgically conjoined. When Gaines dies, Laramie goes mad, escapes, and flees into the Louisiana bayous, haunted by violent "green ghosts".
• The Mission: With the primary team occupied in the "Sink Atlantis" crossover, Amanda Waller assembles a secondary squad of expendable villains to retrieve Laramie.
• The Conflict: The mission turns into a "slasher-style" horror adventure as the team is picked off one by one by Laramie's spectral protectors and Swamp Thing, who intervenes to protect her from the intruders.
• The Outcome: The mission is a bloodbath with a near-total casualty rate. Waller eventually shifts the objective from capturing Laramie to attempting to capture Swamp Thing, which also ends poorly for the team.
