Supergirl #1 (2016) is the debut issue of the seventh volume of the Supergirl series, published by DC Comics and released on September 7, 2016. Plot Overview

• The New Status Quo: Following the events of the Supergirl: Rebirth one-shot where her powers were successfully restored, Kara Zor-El relocates to National City.
• The Dual Identity: To seamlessly blend into Earth culture, Kara works closely with the D.E.O. (Department of Extranormal Operations). She adopts the civilian identity of Kara Danvers, an ordinary American high school teenager living with her new foster parents, Jeremiah and Eliza Danvers.
• The Struggle to Fit In: Kara finds herself severely out of sync with humanity. She struggles immensely with the "archaic" nature of Earth technology compared to Krypton, and her boss frequently reprimands her for displaying typical Kryptonian arrogance.
• The Sanctuary: Overwhelmed by the pressures of high school and the clumsy, well-meaning attempts of her foster parents to make her feel at home, Kara flies away to the Fortress of Solitude to clear her mind.
• The Cliffhanger: Waiting for her inside the Fortress is a terrifying ambush. She comes face-to-face with the villainous Cyborg Superman, who drops the shocking revelation that he is actually her cybernetically reconstructed biological father, Zor-El.
