Supergirl #1, written and illustrated by Sophie Campbell, debuted on May 14, 2025, as part of DC's "Summer of Superman" and "All In" initiatives. The new costume for Kara Zor-El was designed by popular artist Stanley "Artgerm" Lau.
Creative Team: The series is both written and drawn by Sophie Campbell, known for her work on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
New Direction: The storyline follows Kara as she leaves Metropolis to return to her roots in the town of Midvale. Upon her arrival, she discovers there is already a protector calling herself Supergirl.
Costume Design: Artist Stanley "Artgerm" Lau designed a new, modern look for Supergirl, which he described as "sporty and fun, but packs a punch".
Variant Covers: In addition to Campbell's main cover, the debut issue features variant covers by Artgerm, Bilquis Evely, Pablo Villalobos, Joshua Middleton, and W. Scott Forbes.
Publication: The title is part of DC's "All In" initiative and ties into the broader "Summer of Superman" event that launched in 2025.
