Unlike standard superhero books, it blends biblical angelology with standard DC universe themes.

Plot Overview

• The Protagonist: In this alternate reality, Matrix is not a shapeshifting protoplasmic clone; she is an earth-bound angel—one of the Amenlee—whose divine mission is to guide human souls back from rebellion against God's will.
• The Crisis: Overwhelmed by centuries of human cruelty and failure, Matrix begins to lose her faith, experiencing a deep and dangerous cynicism toward humanity.
• The Assignment: Her final test of self-discovery tethers her to a defiant, struggling human soul: Linda Danvers.
• The Journey: To protect Linda and rediscover her own purpose, Matrix must navigate a perilous psychological landscape. She crosses paths with several prominent DC characters reimagined for this universe, including Zauriel, the Phantom Stranger, Aquaman, Clark Kent, and the Spectre.
