The Punisher Vol. 2 #75 (released in December 1992 with a February 1993 cover date) is a special 52-page anniversary issue published by Marvel Comics. It is highly recognizable for its silver-foil embossed coverfeaturing artwork by Steve Geiger, showcasing the Punisher's iconic skull symbol and a knife.

Because it was an oversized milestone issue, it functions as an anthology containing three separate gritty stories rather than a single continuous plot.

Story 1: "Police Action (Part 3 of 3)"

  • Creators: Written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning; art by Doug Braithwaite and Josef Rubinstein.
  • The Plot: This story serves as the grand finale to the "Police Action" story arc. Frank Castle is caught right in the middle of executing a high-profile target when V.I.G.I.L. (a heavily armed, anti-vigilante government task force led by Captain Mike Nails) corners him. Rather than slaughtering legitimate law enforcement figures, a reluctant Punisher is prepared to surrender. However, the unstable armored villain Recoil crashes the showdown, turning the arrest into an absolute three-way war zone.

Story 2: "Bar Wars"

  • Creators: Written by Roger Salick; art by Val Mayerik.
  • The Plot: Frank receives a tip-off from one of his usual criminal informants to meet up at a local dive bar. Unfortunately for him, the tip is an absolute setup. The moment Frank walks through the door, the trap springs. The entire story turns into a brutal, classic, pub-destroying brawl where the Punisher has to systematically fight his way through a room packed entirely with thugs out to collect a bounty on his head.

Story 3: "Flare Up"

  • Creators: Written by Mike Lackey; art by the legendary heavy-metal comic artist Simon Bisley.
  • The Plot: This short story focuses heavily on raw action and hyper-violent stylized art. The premise is classic, stripped-down Punisher: Frank locates a massive, heavily fortified crack laboratory in New York City. He orchestrates a tactical, explosive raid to tear down the operation and wipe out the drug cartel's local syndicate from the ground up.
