The Silver Surfer # 69 published in August 1992, is an "Infinity War" crossover issue that focuses on the confrontation between Galactus and a new armored villain, Khoon the Explorer, and features the first cameo appearance of Morg the Executioner.

The issue, titled "The Explorer!", is part of the ongoing Infinity War storyline, where the heroes are searching for the source of a mystic energy that has rendered the cosmic entity Eternity comatose.

  • Conflict with Khoon: The Silver Surfer, Nova (Frankie Raye), and Doctor Strange are traveling with Galactus in his spherical spaceship through a dimensional corridor. They are confronted by the armored villain Khoon the Explorer, who demands they surrender the ship. Nova and the Surfer fight back, but Khoon captures Nova and forces them to take him inside to confront Galactus.
  • Galactus Triumphs: Once inside, Doctor Strange attacks Khoon but is easily defeated. Galactus listens to Khoon's origin story, learning that his battlesuit contains invaluable navigational charts of the dimensional corridor. Galactus then effortlessly defeats Khoon and forcibly incorporates him and his armor into the ship's navigation system, providing the means to continue their journey toward their destination, the dimension of the Magus.
  • Interlude with Morg: In a secondary interlude on an unnamed planet, a brutal executioner named Morg is introduced, diligently executing a prisoner. This marks the first appearance of the character who will become Galactus' next, more ruthless, herald in the following story arc, "The Herald Ordeal".
