The Spectacular Spider-Man #184, titled "Aftermath," was published by Marvel Comics in November 1991 (cover-dated January 1992). Written by J.M. DeMatteis with art by Sal Buscema, it serves as the final chapter and epilogue to the critically acclaimed seven-part story arc "The Child Within" [#178–184]. 

Plot Summary

The issue deals with the fallout of the massive three-way battle between Spider-Man, the Green Goblin (Harry Osborn), and Vermin. 

• The Search for Harry: While Vermin has been returned to the psychiatric care of Dr. Ashley Kafka, Harry Osborn remains at large and deeply unstable. Unlike previous episodes, Harry has not regained his senses and is now struggling with his dual identity as a family man and the vengeful Green Goblin.
• Breaking the News: Peter Parker meets with Mark Raxton (the Molten Man) to reveal that his brother-in-law, Harry, has relapsed into supervillainy. Raxton takes on the difficult task of informing his sister, Liz Osborn, about her husband's descent back into madness.
• Vermin's Trauma: The story explores the psychological roots of Vermin’s pain, revealing that his "Edward" persona began to emerge after he finally faced the trauma of his childhood abuse.
• A Brief Interruption: During a nighttime search for Harry, Spider-Man's spider-sense is triggered by a green figure on a rooftop, which turns out to be a cameo from the aspiring young hero Frog-Man rather than the Goblin.
