Voodoo # 1, released by DC Comics on September 28, 2011, marked the debut of the character's first solo ongoing series within the mainstream DC Universe. Published as part of The New 52 line-wide relaunch, it integrated the former Wildstorm property into a new, darker continuity under the "Edge" line of titles.

"Keeping Secrets"

The story reimagines Priscilla Kitaen as a mysterious exotic dancer at the Voodoo Lounge in New Orleans.

  • The Surveillance: Two federal agents, Tyler Evans and Jessica Fallon, are undercover monitoring Priscilla, suspecting she is a non-human sleeper agent.
  • The Infiltration: Agent Evans manages to pay for a private dance to interrogate her. He reveals that his agency has been tracking her for weeks and believes she is a telepathic extraterrestrial spy gathering intelligence from the high-ranking military personnel who frequent the club.
  • The Reveal: After Evans threatens her with experiments to extract her secrets, Priscilla uses her telepathy to sense his hostile intentions. She then transforms into her true, monstrous Daemonite alien form and brutally murders him.
  • The Aftermath: Following the kill, she adopts Agent Evans' physical appearance and quits her job at the club, successfully returning a call to his partner, Agent Fallon, to maintain her cover.
  • Writer: Ron Marz.
  • Artist (Penciller/Inker): Sami Basri.
  • Colorist: Jessica Kholinne.
  • Letterer: Jared K. Fletcher.
  • Cover Artists: Sami Basri and Sunny Gho.
