"The Man Who Wasn't There"

Following an attack on a hospice, X-Factor interrogates a captured Acolyte named Spoor.

  • The Son of Magneto: Spoor refuses to talk until Quicksilver enters; the Acolytes revere him as the "Son of Magneto," allowing Pietro to coax out the location of their next target: Camp Hayden.
  • The Secret Revelation: Government liaison Val Cooper takes Quicksilver and the mercenary Random to the base, but the rest of the team follows secretly. They discover that Camp Hayden is a front for Project: Wideawake, a government program building new Sentinels.
  • Exodus Arrives: During a battle with the Acolytes at the base, a mysterious, powerful mutant named Exodus makes his first appearance, observing the conflict before the Acolytes retreat.
  • Writers: Scott Lobdell, J.M. DeMatteis, and Joe Quesada.
  • Artists: Joe Quesada (pencils) and Al Milgrom (inks).
  • The Hologram: The issue is a classic "gimmick" cover from the '90s, featuring a lenticular hologram of Havok on the front.
