All-New Ultimates # 1 2014 VF+

All-New Ultimates #1, released on April 9, 2014, debuted as part of the Ultimate Marvel NOW! event. Written by Michel Fiffe (creator of COPRA) with art by Amilcar Pinna, the series follows a new generation of street-level heroes taking up the mantle after the original Ultimates disbanded following the events of Cataclysm. 

The Team Roster

The "Young Ultimates" are a group of misfit teenagers who previously appeared in Ultimate Spider-Man. The core team includes: 

• Spider-Man (Miles Morales)
• Black Widow (Jessica Drew), formerly known as Spider-Woman
• Kitty Pryde
• Bombshell
• Cloak & Dagger 

Plot Summary

Set against a rampant crime wave in Hell's Kitchen, the team officially unites to protect a city where S.H.I.E.L.D. is defunct and superpowered gangs have taken over. 

• The Main Threat: The team's first mission pits them against the Serpent Skulls, a ruthless gang led by Diamondback that controls the local drug and weapons trade.
• Secondary Plots:
• Detective Brigid O'Reilly leads an anti-gang unit hunting a mysterious serial killer named Scourge, who targets individuals wearing masks.
• The heroes also deal with the fallout of an illegal Roxxon lab drug that could grant superpowers or cause death if released.
• Ganke Lee, Miles' best friend, is mugged by gang members while searching for rare LEGO sets, leading Miles to offer him a place to stay.
