Archie vs. Predator # 1 (released April 15, 2015) is the first issue of a four-part crossover miniseries that brings the galaxy's deadliest hunter to the all-American town of Riverdale.
The debut issue sets up the hunt by taking the Archie gang away from their usual environment:
-
Spring Break Vacation: Jughead wins a trip to a tropical island resort for the group.
-
The Catalyst: During the trip, Betty and Veronica engage in a fierce fight, which inadvertently attracts the attention of a young Predator stalking the jungle.
-
The Artifact: Betty discovers an ancient temple and takes a sacrificial dagger, unknown to her that this act further marks the group as targets.
-
First Blood: While the gang remains oblivious—even failing to notice blood dripping from the trees—the Predator claims its first victims: Cheryl and Jason Blossom.
-
The Return: The issue ends with the gang heading back to Riverdale, unaware that the Predator has hitched a ride in their luggage.
