Batman #159, titled "The Prodigal Son," is the second chapter of the "H2SH" (Hush 2) storyline, written by Jeph Loeb with art by Jim Lee and Scott Williams. Released on April 23, 2025, the issue explores Batman's moral limits as he is forced to save the life of his greatest enemy. 

Plot Synopsis

• A Mission of Mercy: Following the events of issue #158, Batman finds the Joker near death with his jaw wired shut. Driven by his moral code, Batman takes him to Dr. Leslie Thompkins for emergency surgery.
• The Batcave Infirmary: Fearing that Hush is monitoring hospitals, Batman relocates the comatose Joker to the Batcave to monitor his recovery and study his brain for anomalies.
• Family Conflict: Red Hood (Jason Todd) discovers the Joker in the cave and is outraged by Batman’s decision to save the man who murdered him. This leads to a brutal physical confrontation where Batman eventually knocks Jason out—reportedly by grazing him with a firearm in a controversial moment.
• The Cliffhanger: When Batman regains consciousness, he discovers that the Batmobile, Jason Todd, and the Joker have all vanished.
• Side Plot: Meanwhile, Nightwing and Batgirl are visited by the Riddler, who offers his assistance in stopping Hush's new scheme.
