Batman #160 (2025) is the third part of the H2sh storyline by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee.

A new enemy emerges: Bruce Wayne's enemy Hush returns, revealing his alliance with a mysterious new character named Silence. The two plot to destroy Batman.

Red Hood's alliance: Batman discovers that his former protégé, Jason Todd (Red Hood), is working with Hush because the damage inflicted by the Joker was more severe than previously understood and Hush has promised to help.

A weapon from the past: The appearance of Damascus steel scalpels with ties to Batman's own family leads him to Wayne Medical Towers, where he is attacked by a surgically enhanced woman and Silence.

Damian and Bane: In a surprising twist, Damian Wayne appears alongside Bane to help Batman, leading to a tense standoff.

Bat-Family drama: The Bat-Family remains fractured. The Riddler provides information to Nightwing and Batgirl, but Nightwing defies his warning and heads for a confrontation with Jason and the Joker, who are at a lighthouse.

Who is Hush?

In the comics, Hush is the villainous alter ego of Dr. Thomas "Tommy" Elliot, a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne. Elliot, a brilliant surgeon, orchestrates a plot to destroy Batman out of a lifelong grudge against the Wayne family.

The origin of Hush
Tommy Elliot was born into a wealthy family, much like Bruce Wayne, but endured an abusive upbringing. At a young age, Elliot orchestrated a car crash to murder his parents for their inheritance. The plan was only partially successful, as his mother survived thanks to an emergency operation performed by Bruce's father, Dr. Thomas Wayne.
This event sparked a deep, vengeful jealousy in Elliot:
He resented the Wayne family, blaming them for saving his mother and denying him his inheritance.
His hatred grew after Bruce's parents were murdered, as Bruce inherited his family's wealth, an independence Elliot had long craved.
Years later, Elliot killed his own mother and then worked with the Riddler, who had discovered Batman's identity. Using this information, Elliot created the persona of Hush to torment and destroy his childhood friend.

Hush's characteristics:

A dark mirror: Hush serves as a foil to Batman, representing what Bruce Wayne could have become if he had used his abilities for malice. Both are wealthy, intelligent, and highly strategic, but with vastly different moral compasses.

Master manipulator: With the tactical skills he learned playing strategy games against Bruce as a child, Elliot orchestrates complex schemes involving many of Batman's other villains.

Brilliant surgeon: Hush is a genius-level surgeon who can perform delicate and complicated procedures. He has used his skills to repair Harvey Dent's face and even operate on himself to impersonate Bruce Wayne.

Bandaged face: As Hush, Elliot conceals his face with bandages, giving him a distinct and chilling appearance.

Alternative versions of Hush:
While Thomas Elliot is the original Hush from the comics, his identity has been adapted differently in other media:
In the animated movie Batman: Hush (2019), the Riddler is revealed to be Hush, not Thomas Elliot, who is simply a pawn in his plan.
In the video games Batman: Arkham City and Arkham Knight, Tommy Elliot plots his revenge against Bruce, even going so far as to graft a new face onto himself to look like his former friend
