Batman # 613 Dollar Comics Edition 2020 Reprint NM-

Batman # 613, published in May 2003 (released March 26, 2003), is the sixth chapter in the acclaimed 12-part "Hush" storyline, titled "The Opera". Written by Jeph Loeb with art by Jim Lee, the issue is a pivotal turning point in the arc. 

The story revolves around a charity gala at the Gotham City Opera House attended by Bruce Wayne, Selina Kyle, Leslie Thompkins, and Bruce's childhood friend, Tommy Elliot. 

• Harley Quinn's Heist: The opera is interrupted by Harley Quinn, who, in a surprisingly violent fashion, attempts to steal a jade pendant heirloom from Tommy Elliot. Bruce and Selina duck away to change into Batman and Catwoman.
• The Confrontation: Catwoman and Harley battle on stage until Harley shoots Catwoman (a superficial wound), making her escape. Tommy Elliot pursues Harley outside the building to get his pendant back.
• The Climax: Batman runs outside after hearing a gunshot in a nearby alley. He arrives to a shocking scene: the Joker is standing over the bleeding body of his friend Tommy Elliot. This incident of Tommy's apparent murder drives much of the subsequent "Hush" storyline.

• Significance: The shocking cliffhanger at the end of the issue is a major event that drives the plot forward and makes it a "key issue" for the "Hush" saga.
