Batman: Fortress # 1 2022 VF

Batman: Fortress # 1 is the debut issue of an eight-part limited series published by DC Comics in May 2022. Written by Gary Whitta (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and illustrated by Darick Robertson (The Boys), the story is a standalone "Elseworlds-type" adventure set in modern DC continuity. 

• The Blackout: An unknown alien ship enters Earth's atmosphere, instantly disrupting all global power, communications, internet, and GPS networks.
• Superman's Absence: As the world faces an existential threat, Superman is mysteriously missing.
• Chaos in Gotham: The global blackout causes electronic locks at Arkham Asylum to fail, leading to a mass breakout and a massive crime wave in Gotham City.
• Batman's Mission: While the world looks for the Man of Steel, Batman must first quell the immediate violence on Gotham's streets. The series eventually follows his efforts to infiltrate the Fortress of Solitude to find Kryptonian technology or clues to stop the alien incursion. 
• Wayne Manor Breach: Bruce Wayne is forced to fight off a group of criminals who break into Wayne Manor during the darkness to rob it.
• Street Warfare: Batman spends the night fighting iconic villains, including an escaped Penguin and a Joker who hijacked a school bus.
• Saving the Joker: In a scene highlighting Batman's character, he is forced to save the Joker from a group of kidnappers in front of children.
• Justice League Assembly: By the end of the issue, Batman meets with the remaining Justice League members at the Hall of Justice to coordinate a strike against the alien ship.
