Batman/The Maxx: Arkham Dreams # 1 2018 is the first issue of a five-part crossover mini-series that merges Batman's reality with The Maxx's psychedelic mental landscape. The story begins a bizarre adventure where Batman and The Maxx must navigate the twisted psyches of iconic Arkham villains to save reality. 

• A New Patient: A devious new doctor at Arkham Asylum begins unconventional experiments on the human psyche, choosing The Maxx as his newest patient.
• Merging Realities: These experiments cause The Maxx's surreal mental world, the "Outback," to start merging with Gotham City, blurring the lines between what is real and unreal.
• An Unlikely Alliance: Batman, who has discovered The Maxx, brings him to Arkham. The two are soon transported to a corrupted version of the Outback.
• A Journey Through Madness: To save Gotham and all of reality from the merging dimensions, Batman and The Maxx must team up and journey through the dark, twisted minds of Batman's greatest foes, including Harley Quinn, the Penguin, Killer Croc, and the Joker.
