Black Lightning # 1 2025 titled "The Standard, Part 1," launched the character's first solo limited series in years as part of the "DC All-In" initiative. While released in November 2024, it carries a 2025 cover date and is the current definitive Black Lightning story heading into 2026.

Written by Brandon Thomas with art by Fico Ossio, the story explores the aftermath of the Absolute Power event, where heroes' powers were stolen and then restored.

• The Mission: Jefferson Pierce has transitioned from a street-level vigilante to a high-level Crisis Manager for the Justice League. He leads a metahuman outreach initiative to help newly "powered" individuals stabilize before they become dangerous.
• Family Conflict: The story centers on the Pierce family. Jefferson is struggling with the trauma of failing to protect his daughters when they were depowered. His daughter Anissa (Thunder) is dealing with unstable, enhanced powers that threaten her safety, leading to a rift between father and daughter over how to handle her "condition."
• A New Threat: The issue introduces a modernized, more lethal version of the Masters of Disaster, who are preying on the chaos caused by the recent global power shifts.

• New Status Quo: Jefferson is now operating on a global scale with Justice League resources, but with a renewed focus on his role as a father and educator.
