Black Lightning # 2 2025 NM

Black Lightning # 2 2025 titled "The Standard, Part 2," is the second issue of a five-part limited series written by Brandon Thomas with art by Fico Ossio. Released in December 2024 with a cover date of February 2025, it follows the Pierce family as they navigate the volatile aftermath of the Absolute Power event. 

• Family Crisis: The story centers on Anissa Pierce (Thunder), whose newly altered powers have become unstable. She undergoes mandatory therapy at the Justice League Watchtower, where her complex feelings of failure and abandonment by her father, Jefferson Pierce, cause her powers to lash out.
• Metahuman Outreach: While Anissa is quarantined, Jefferson and his daughter Jennifer (Lightning) are on the front lines, responding to rapid-fire metahuman outbreaks caused by the short-circuiting of Amanda Waller’s Super-Amazos.
• Political Unrest: The issue introduces a growing "culture war" led by Councilman Jay Harriman, who uses anti-metahuman rhetoric to valorize Waller’s actions and fuel public bigotry against superpowered individuals.
• Steelworks Support: Lightning takes Anissa to Steelworks, where they meet with allies John Henry Irons and Natasha Irons. The issue concludes with a cliffhanger as the facility is attacked by Volcana and a new iteration of the Masters of Disaster.
