Captain America # 1 2011 the start of the sixth volume of the series, begins with Steve Rogers and his allies attending a funeral, which quickly devolves into a race against time involving an old wartime enemy. 

The issue focuses on the reappearance of an old enemy from Captain America's World War II days, forcing Steve to revisit his past:

• A Friend's Funeral: The story opens in Paris at the funeral of Peggy Carter (Sharon Carter's aunt and Steve's wartime love interest), attended by Steve Rogers, Sharon Carter, Nick Fury, and Dum Dum Dugan.
• The Attack: The funeral is violently interrupted by a sniper who targets Dum Dum Dugan. Steve springs into action, saving his friend and chasing the assassin through the streets of Paris.
• Codename: Bravo: The assassin is revealed to be an old ally from a wartime mission known as Codename: Bravo (real name Richard), who grew bitter after believing Peggy broke off their relationship because she preferred Steve.
• A New Lead: After the skirmish, Steve, Nick, and Sharon learn that an old acquaintance from that same wartime mission, Jimmy Jankovicz (a.k.a. Jimmy Jupiter), has recently woken up from a long coma, a development they realize is connected to Bravo's return.
• A Trap: The team travels to a secret government facility in Virginia to check on Jimmy, but the visit is a setup. Hydra agents attack the facility and kidnap the elderly, catatonic Jimmy, revealing that Bravo is working with Hydra to get his revenge.
