Captain America # 390 was published in late August 1991. It features the fourth installment of the six-part story arc titled "The Superia Stratagem".
"When Women Wage War!"
In this issue, Captain America and the mercenary Paladin continue their infiltration of the S.S. Superia, a cruise ship carrying an army of female supervillains known as the Femizons.
- The Battle: Outnumbered and overwhelmed by sheer numbers, Cap and Paladin face a massive free-for-all against numerous villains, including Titania, Screaming Mimi, and Snapdragon.
- The Capture: Despite their skills, both heroes are eventually defeated and captured. They are bound and interrogated by Dr. Nightshade and Dansen Macabre.
- Superia's Plan: The issue ends with the villainous Superia revealing her bizarre ultimate goal: she intends to use a medical procedure to transform Captain America and Paladin into women to integrate them into her female-only society.
- Creative Team: Written by Mark Gruenwald with pencils by Rik Levins and inks by Danny Bulanadi.
- Backup Story: "Sneak Attack" features the Skeleton Crew attempting to free the Red Skull from a Berlin military compound, only to be intercepted by the German heroes Hauptmann Deutschland, Blitzkrieg, and Zeitgeist.
- Cover Art: Illustrated by Ron Lim and Danny Bulanadi.
