Captain America # 404 1992 NM

Captain America # 404 titled "Children of the Night," was published in August 1992. It is the third installment of the famous "Man and Wolf" story arc (better known as the Capwolf saga). 

"Children of the Night"

The plot follows Captain America and Doctor Druid as they investigate a series of werewolf attacks in Starkesboro, Massachusetts. 

• The Werewolf Siege: Cap and Dr. Druid find themselves surrounded by a pack of werewolves. Dr. Druid uses an invisibility spell to help them escape and regroup.
• Wolverine vs. Captain America: Meanwhile, the villainous Nightshade attempts to turn Wolverine into a werewolf. While his healing factor resists the transformation, she uses hypnosis (via the villain Dredmund) to turn him into a mindless killer instead.
• The Battle: Cap encounters the feral Wolverine, and a brutal fight ensues. Cap eventually manages to knock Wolverine into a Jeep, but the battle ends when Moonhunter intervenes and tranquilizes Cap.
• The Transformation: The issue concludes with Cap waking up in Nightshade's lab. In the final cliffhanger, she begins injecting him with her werewolf serum. 

"Real World"

A second story focuses on Diamondback (Rachel Leighton) and her captor, Crossbones. 

• The Test: Crossbones declares Diamondback's training complete and gives her a new costume.
• The Mission: As a final test of loyalty, he sends her to Avengers Mansion to steal samples of Captain America’s blood.
