Captain America: White # 0 2008 NM-

Captain America: White # 0 released on July 9, 2008, is the introductory issue for the six-part "Color" series by writer Jeph Loeb and artist Tim Sale. It was published seven years before the rest of the series due to significant production delays. 

The issue, titled "It Happened One Night," focuses on the origin of the partnership between Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes: 

• Bucky's Origin: It depicts Bucky as a teenager at Camp Lehigh who accidentally discovers Steve Rogers' secret identity while Steve is changing into his costume.
• Training: Recognizing Bucky's determination to help the war effort, Steve trains him to become his partner.
• First Mission: The duo embarks on their first mission together, parachuting into enemy territory to stop Nazis transporting explosives. The mission serves as a harsh introduction for Bucky to the grim realities of war.
• Special Features: The original #0 issue included a cover gallery, script samples, an interview with the creators, and a version of the story presented in black-and-white to showcase Tim Sale's pencils. 

• Release Date: July 9, 2008 (Cover date September 2008).
• The Seven-Year Gap: While #0 was released in 2008, Captain America: White #1 did not arrive until September 2015. This was due to Loeb's work with Marvel Television and the creators' desire to finish the entire series before resuming publication.
• Reprinting: Because of the long delay, the content of issue #0 was reprinted in the extra-sized Captain America: White #1 in 2015 to catch readers up.
