Classic X-Men # 10 (1987) contains a reprint of the original 1977 story from Uncanny X-Men #102, in which the X-Men battle Black Tom Cassidy and the Juggernaut in Ireland, along with a new backup story detailing an intense "game of tag" between Wolverine and Sabretooth.
"Who Will Stop the Juggernaut?" (Reprint of Uncanny X-Men #102)
The main story sees the X-Men (minus Cyclops) travel to Banshee's ancestral home in Ireland, which is a castle that has fallen into a trap set by his villainous cousin, Black Tom Cassidy, and his powerful ally, the Juggernaut.
- The Battle: A battle quickly ensues, but the X-Men are at a disadvantage. Wolverine, Colossus, and Nightcrawler struggle to take on the physically overwhelming Juggernaut.
- Storm's Origin: During the fight, Storm is paralyzed by a severe claustrophobic episode, a phobia stemming from a traumatic childhood event. Her mind flashes back to the Suez War of 1956, where her parents were killed by falling debris, leaving her buried alive and orphaned in Cairo. She became a street thief to survive until her powers manifested in Kenya.
- Defeat: Due to Storm's paralysis and the Juggernaut's immense power, the X-Men are all defeated and taken hostage, as Black Tom and Juggernaut plan to lure Professor X into a trap.
"Tag, Sucker!"
This new, additional story, written by Chris Claremont with art by John Bolton, takes place between earlier events in the X-Men timeline and provides character depth.
- The Hunt: Sabretooth hunts Wolverine through a city. Outside a bar, Sabretooth kills a girl, triggering memories and primal rage in Wolverine.
- The Fight: Wolverine dons his X-Men uniform and embraces his animalistic side to fight back, but Sabretooth manages to surprise him, slash his throat, and toss him into the sea.
- The Aftermath: Wolverine's healing factor quickly mends his physical wound, but the psychological impact of the encounter and the reminder of his inner darkness lingers, emphasizing his ongoing struggle to control his feral nature.
