Convergence # 7 (2015) is the penultimate issue of the main miniseries, featuring a massive multiversal battle as the sorcerer Deimos attempts to seize control of all time and space.

Plot Summary

The issue, titled "Showdown," focuses on the final conflict on the planet Telos.

  • The Multiversal War: Deimos, who has absorbed the power of the Time Masters, leads a legion of villains from various timelines—including the Crime Syndicate, the Extremists, and characters from the Flashpoint universe—against a combined force of heroes from the New 52, Earth-2, and Kingdom Come.
  • The Oracle’s Warning: In the New 52 reality, a cosmic entity known as the Oracle warns that the temporal instability caused by the battle is so severe that reality itself is being ripped apart.
  • The Death of Deimos: During the battle, Parallax (the Hal Jordan from the Zero Hour era) intervenes. Believing Deimos is too dangerous to live and viewing his power as a tool that should be used to restore lost worlds like Coast City, Parallax uses his immense power to blast Deimos into dust.
  • The Cliffhanger: Deimos' death releases all the chronal energy he had stolen. This uncontrolled energy explodes across the planet, shattering the Oracle and leaving reality on the brink of total collapse, setting the stage for the final reset in issue #8.
