Convergence: Action Comics #1 (2015) is a tie-in to the Convergence event that features the return of the pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths Earth-2 heroes, Superman (Kal-L) and his cousin Power Girl (Kara Zor-L), as they face the forces of the Soviet-ruled Red Son Universe (Earth-30).

Plot Synopsis

The story is set during the year that the city of Metropolis (from Earth-2) has been trapped under a dome, nullifying all superpowers. The elderly Kal-L and his wife Lois Lane have been living in quiet retirement, having been stripped of their abilities and purpose. 

• Life Under the Dome: Without his powers, Superman is simply an aging man. He and Lois reflect on their past lives and the quiet desperation of their current situation, while Power Girl struggles to adapt to a world without her strength and flight.
• The Dome Drops: After a year, the dome lifts, and the characters' powers are instantly restored. Superman is rejuvenated to his prime, and Power Girl once again feels her full strength.
• The Conflict: The Earth-2 city is pitted against the Red Son version of Moscow. The Earth-30 villains—including that world's version of Wonder Woman in an invisible jet engineered by Lex Luthor—launch an immediate, aggressive assault on the Earth-2 Metropolis.
• The Battle Begins: Power Girl flies out to meet the invasion force head-on. The issue ends as she engages in a brutal aerial combat with the Red Son Wonder Woman, setting up a fight of survival between two different ideological versions of heroism.
