Convergence: Catwoman #1 (2015) is a tie-in issue focusing on the Pre-Zero Hour Catwoman as she struggles with the mundane life forced upon her by the dome and finds herself drawn into conflict with the brutal heroes of the Kingdom Come universe.

Story Synopsis

The issue is set in the domed city of Gotham from the Pre-Zero Hour continuity.

  • Life Under the Dome: For a year, Selina Kyle has been stripped of her Catwoman persona and powers (which included some minor magical/cat-like abilities in this era). The narrative explores her frustrations with a "normal" life and her attempts to find a simple existence. She finds that even without her suit, her intrinsic nature as a thief and a survivor remains.
  • The Dome Falls, Powers Return: When the dome is lifted, Selina immediately feels the return of her powers and her inclination toward thievery and chaos. The city is immediately plunged into the Convergence battle.
  • The Kingdom Come Invasion: The champions of the opposing Kingdom Come universe arrive to conquer Gotham. This team consists of older, jaded, and often overly militaristic versions of heroes: Batman (in heavy armor), Superman, and Wonder Woman.
  • A Familiar Foe: The Kingdom Come heroes are dismissive of the Pre-Zero Hour world, viewing them as weak and ineffectual. Selina finds herself unexpectedly aligned with the heroes of her world, forced to fight for the survival of a city she usually robs. She confronts a version of Batman that reminds her of her own world's grim protector, but far more authoritarian.
  • The Cliffhanger: The issue ends with Catwoman forced to choose between her self-preservation and protecting her city from a seemingly insurmountable, and heavily armed, Kingdom Come team.
