Convergence: Swamp Thing # 2 2015 NM-

Convergence: Swamp Thing #2 (2015) concludes the tie-in story by pitting the Swamp Thing against a vampire-turned Batman from the Batman & Dracula: Red Rain universe, in a battle with a selfless and emotional resolution. 

Story Summary

The issue picks up with the Pre-Crisis Swamp Thing and his love interest Abigail Arcane in Robinson Park, surrounded by the vampire hordes of the opposing city. 

• Renewed Powers, New Foes: Swamp Thing's connection to the Green has been restored, and he quickly dispatches the vampire handmaidens using his plant powers, including a concentrated spray of garlic.
• The Vampire Batman: The champion of the opposing Gotham is a vampire Batman. Instead of fighting each other as Telos demands, the two heroes team up to clear the city of all other vampires. This Batman, who was turned by Dracula himself, is driven by a desire to rid his city of the curse before he succumbs entirely to his bloodlust.
• A Final Sunrise: After defeating the vampire queen, all other vampires in Gotham are restored to normal, but Batman remains a creature of the night. Knowing his time is limited and he cannot survive the return of the sun, he asks Swamp Thing to watch one last sunrise with him.
• The Sacrifice: As the sun rises, the vampire Batman expresses how beautiful it is to see the light one last time before he turns to dust, a final act of heroism and peace. With his opponent deceased, the "Convergence" competition for that zone is declared over, and Swamp Thing and Abby are returned to their life in Robinson Park, their city saved.
